IVO PITTS

In the making of ‘Our Space’ I worked with metal for the first time. Marking out and hand cutting the components using handheld tools involved learning how to use slip roll the walls to uniformly remove tension from the individual sheets and reduce pressure on the spot welds alongside trying both spot and tig welding. Once the outer lip/stand was attached the join was then sealed before applying a black rust resistant coating to help the dish last longer and increase contrast in the reflections cast onto the wall. After having made the dish the dripping pot was then constructed using left over material with weights cut to fit into thee base for stability.
